Here’s what you get: We start out with an immensely powerful yet feather-light 60-million-modulus Powerwall IM9 graphite blank, then wrap the butt section with a new diamond weave carbon fiber to enhance lifting power. We top the blank with virtually frictionless, mirror-polished Fuji aluminum oxide guides, and we finish the blank with the most durable clear-coat available. The grips are turned from ultra-premium-grade cork, with our exclusive PowerHump handle to aid in balance and enhance fish-turning power. The full-contact, Soft Touch reel seat puts your fingers directly on the blank so you can feel even the softest bite. The result is a fishing rod that is farthest removed from the ordinary, that is anything but the usual suspect, and that far exceeds what you expect from a rod at this price point. By definition, these rods truly are extreme!
Our specially contoured, premium cork handle design gives you enhanced leverage and an increased sense of confidence during the battle!
Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guides:
Polished to a mirror-like, friction-free finish. Extremely durable; precisely spaced for perfect line flow.
Full Contact Soft Touch Reel Seat:
Lightweight, rock-solid reel seat locks your reel in place, and the blank-thru construction puts your fingers in direct contact with the blank for the utmost vibration transmission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by John54 Used Extreme Rods for decades I have used extreme rods for over a decade now. The 5ft 9in version I had before I made my recent purchase worked great and I used it for seven years. I had another one before that but the tip broke when a friend of mine closed the car trunk on it. I still have the second 5ft 9in version, but just wanted a 6ft 6in version. The sales price was right this year so I bought it. I already knew the Extreme rods are very sensitive and last a long time. I am very happy with my new rod and hope to get another 5 to 10 years out of this one also. April 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lou44 Tough I own 10 extreme rods for a reason. Toughness and sensitivity all rolled into one product. Most of my rods are over 10 years old ! They are all green ! April 25, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by rbmchief love em love these rods, been using them for 6 years now, mainly walleye. They're best on a rubber bite but they also work well for pitching cranks, live bait fishing and even work well pulling bottom bouncers and slow death. My favorite all around rod i have March 21, 2013

Details:I have this rod in Medium power and want to go lighter for small, light crank baits and drop shotting.
A:This rod is excellent for bass. My recomendation is to use lighter line, 6lb-8lb during the cool-cold months and heavier line, 8lb-10lb during the warmer months. To give you an idea I caught a 10lb stripper on 8lb , using the same rod you have. See pic

A:I have this rod and have a Daiwa Exceller 2500 reel on it. The reel is the older model; 4.7:1 gear ratio so it has plenty of torque. This rod is made to throw heavier baits so I would suggest a reel with plenty of torque and a good drag. I don't have a Shimano reel, but I can recommend BPS Pro Qualifier, Pflueger Supreme and Abu Garcia medium size reels for this rod.
Details:I though I saw in previous ads that the seven foot two piece was telescoping, and my friend bought one a few years ago that was.
A:The 7 rod I bought was 2 piece not telescoping
A:The two piece rods are not telescoping. The one I purchased is 7' obne piece.
