I have used extreme rods for over a decade now. The 5ft 9in version I had before I made my recent purchase worked great and I used it for seven years. I had another one before that but the tip broke when a friend of mine closed the car trunk on it. I still have the second 5ft 9in version, but just wanted a 6ft 6in version. The sales price was right this year so I bought it. I already knew the Extreme rods are very sensitive and last a long time. I am very happy with my new rod and hope to get another 5 to 10 years out of this one also.

I own 10 extreme rods for a reason. Toughness and sensitivity all rolled into one product. Most of my rods are over 10 years old ! They are all green !

love these rods, been using them for 6 years now, mainly walleye. They're best on a rubber bite but they also work well for pitching cranks, live bait fishing and even work well pulling bottom bouncers and slow death. My favorite all around rod i have

This rod is excellent for bass. My recomendation is to use lighter line, 6lb-8lb during the cool-cold months and heavier line, 8lb-10lb during the warmer months. To give you an idea I caught a 10lb stripper on 8lb , using the same rod you have. See picImages for this Answer

I have this rod and have a Daiwa Exceller 2500 reel on it. The reel is the older model; 4.7:1 gear ratio so it has plenty of torque. This rod is made to throw heavier baits so I would suggest a reel with plenty of torque and a good drag. I don't have a Shimano reel, but I can recommend BPS Pro Qualifier, Pflueger Supreme and Abu Garcia medium size reels for this rod.Details:

The two piece rods are not telescoping. The one I purchased is 7' obne piece.

The 7' 2-piece rod is not telescoping in the spinning rod, however, in the 7'6" trigger rods (found by searching item number 16373200) are telescoping rods (meaning that they have a retractable butt section).1 of 1
