Here’s what you get: We start out with an immensely powerful yet feather-light 60-million-modulus Powerwall IM9 graphite blank, then wrap the butt section with a new diamond weave carbon fiber to enhance lifting power. We top the blank with virtually frictionless, mirror-polished
Fuji aluminum oxide guides, and we finish the blank with the most durable clear-coat available. The grips are turned from ultra-premium-grade cork, with our exclusive PowerHump handle to aid in balance and enhance fish-turning power. The full-contact, Soft Touch reel seat
puts your fingers directly on the blank so you can feel even the softest bite. The result is a fishing rod that is farthest removed from the ordinary, that is anything but the usual suspect, and that far exceeds what you expect from a rod at this price point. By definition, these rods truly are extreme!
3-Piece Travel Model:
These handy (yet no less Extreme!) 3-piece rods have all the features of the 1- and 2-piece rods, but break down to a nice compact size that you can keep in your trunk or carry on a plane to avoid high baggage fees. Includes a FREE nylon rod sock and crushproof rod tube with Cordura® cover—a $19.99 value. Tube measures 31".
PowerHump Handles:
Our specially contoured, premium cork handle design gives you enhanced leverage and an increased sense of confidence during the battle!
Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guides:
Polished to a mirror-like, friction-free finish. Extremely durable; precisely spaced for perfect line flow.
Full Contact Soft Touch Reel Seat:
Lightweight, rock-solid reel seat locks your reel in place, and the blank-thru construction puts your fingers in direct contact with the blank for the utmost vibration transmission.

I took this on a trip to Dallas last week to do some bank fishing on the weekends and after work. I caught a bunch of decent fish and even when the bite was soft I was able to feel it, set the hook and bring them in. I fished with light shakey heads, weightless finesse worms and even put the drop shot on it. I have the Medium-Heavy model and it did extremely well with those finesse techniques.
Needless to say I love this rod and will probably add the other 2 to my collection to use when I travel.

These spinning rods are excellent rods for traveling or packing in your car trunk in case you happen to see a body of water along the side of the road that is begging to be fished. I have three each of the spinning and casting extreme travel rods and I highly recommend them for the person who likes good quality rod that can break down.

Answers
A:
Yes Bill, I do not see why you can't use these rods for that purpose. They make two different kinds of travel spinning rods and one has a medium heavy action to it. I use the medium action mostly because I freshwater fish for bass and walleye, but I've purchased the med/hvy action rod for a trip off the coast of Japan and caught some nice size grouper in the 6 to 10 lb range and the rod performed well.A:
