Made from 420 denier ripstop nylon with air mesh panels for breathability. Color: Carbon Gray. Fits up to 52'' chest. USCG approved/Type V with Type III performance. Imported.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sam22son Excellent for inshore use
This is a Type III PFD so its use should be restricted to small lakes and streams and not offshore. But for use on small lakes it is perfect in terms of comfort and it is a good value at the price.
I like that I could convert it to Manual only so I don't have to worry about it accidentally inflating if it gets wet. It can auto inflate in Auto mode and this is often the result of improper storage by people. I would never put wet gear away in a closed storage area for fear of mildew and mold so auto inflation would not be a problem.
But kayaking the vest will get wet and I would not want it to inflate if this happens. An inflated vest would also make it a lot more difficult to get back into a kayak from the water, if not impossible to do so.
The vest comes with excellent instructions though the yellow Manual adapter is hidden in the side pocket in an inside-the-side pocket. A phone call to the company quickly reached a person who could tell me exactly where it was located.
The vest includes a whistle which is worthless and a hose that can be used to blow up the vest with lung power if the CO2 cartridge fails for any reason. The hose also makes it easy to inflate the vest to check it for leaks before needing it an emergency.
In cold ocean waters this vest might make recovery of the body easier but it is not going to do much for a person's chances of survival. A float jacket or Type I PFD is what will actually be needed should you go overboard in cold water or have your boat sink from underneath you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vanellies Great buy
This vest was a great investment. At first I thought the pockets would just add more weight and that I wouldn't use them, but actually I found out that they are a pretty nice accessory to have.
Over all I'm very satisfied with this product. Now I don't have to keep on removing the life vest and putting it back on while fishing tourneys. I guess every 5-10 seconds adds up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HamsSon Very Comfortable
State law requires life jackets be worn essentially half the year where I live. I was very tired of the bulky uncomfortable vests. I went to the BPS store to try this one on in person. I STRONGLY recommend you do the same. They are all so different, that you just can't tell which one will fit you best. The biggest problem with all the inflatable style life jackets is rubbing against the back of the neck. A lot of them are terrible. This one fit me well. I have fished with mine at least 10 times now. After a full day on the water, this life jacket is still just as comfortable as when I tried it on in the store. I wish I had purchased it sooner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ComancheMike Good PFD although a little small
I bought this to use in place of the old style life vest when fishing by myself. I was looking for a PFD that would be comfortable for all day use and small enough that movement would not be hindered. This one does most of what I wanted, but "rides" a little high. I weigh around 240 @ 74" and this item is more comfortable than what it replaced. But it is smaller than it appears where advertised. Overall, it appears to be made a little better that other imports I have seen. I hope I never need it, but if I do, I trust it to functions as designed. I got it on sale @ 50.00 off the regular price and cashed in point on my BPS Rewards Card, so I like the price. I wish BPS would build the store in Augusta, so we could inspect items before the purchase in stead of "hoping" we got it right from the catalog.

I'd like the automatic inflator to work while running with my boat, but if I am wade fishing in the surf, I'd like to turn off the automatic feature so that it doesn't unintentionally deploy. I have heard that some jackets allow for this. Does this one do so as well? Thanks.
