when I placed my orderthe CSR told me about other special sale items. I ordered the Balsa Boogie Crankbait in Chartruese/yellow for a trip to Lake Champlain in Vermont. The first cast i caught a 39 to 40' 14lb Northern Pike. I rate this lure a whopping 5 stars

this lure has a bad action, not very durable and a 30" 6lb chain pickerel took a chunk out of it! (still caught the pickerel)

I had been wondering how the bass pro balsa boogie would perform, and it did really well. It's definitely a great lure for the money. It had great action and moved through light to moderate cover pretty well with minimal hang ups. I was happy with it and recommend it to other anglers.

It depends on which model you have, ML, MT or a MHT look on the rod between the reel and the first guide. It should be written on the side or bottom somewhere in that area.Top 100 Contributor

You did not state the weight of your crankin' stick. I have the 6'6" in MH and don't feel comfortable throwing anything above 3/8 oz. UNLESS I'm using a balsa crank which is much lighter than the plastics. Then, I'll go up to 1/2 oz.Q:Â

is a hard vibrating action in a crankbait always better than a slight wiggling action?

Well, it has been sometime since you were curious about crankbait action, so maybe you already have an answer.I like a more active wiggle in warmer water, but even then I find too much vibration makes for missed fish that hit from behind.
In colder water, a tight wiggle works better because Bass won't chase as far and want something that looks like it won't put up much of a fight.

THE BALSA BOOGIE IS A GREAT CRANK BAIT THAT CATCHES FISH. IT'S DURABILITY IS TERRIBLE! AFTER A ONE DAY USE IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS IN A BATTLE THAT IT LOST. THE PAINT CHIPS OFF WHICH REVEALS THE SPLICE BETWEEN THE PLASTIC AND WOOD. IT STILL CATCHES FISH BUT LOOKS REALLY BAD. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL AND THEY ALL DO THE SAME. I WILL STILL PURCHASE MORE!Top 250 Contributor

No the durablity of this bait is terrible. It will not last you very long before it is cracked and paint peels off exposing the balsa wood beneath. Save up and buy an RC series crankbait much better bang for your buck.Answers
