I have taken this pack on many 10+ mile hikes in heat exceeding 100 degrees. It easily carries my 3lt camelback and the 2lt hydrapack it came with and since both shoulder straps have a place for the hoses, I don't have to swap them out. It also easily carries enough food for those hikes as well as a small first-aid kit and tools (knives, flashlights). The adjustable pack straps allow it to expand outward greatly increasing your gear volume or be snugged tight so gear doesn't move around.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it doesn't have the elastic mesh pockets on the side that would allow for water bottles to be held on either side of the pack. The design I guess would make it difficult to incorporate those, but to me there's really no excuse not to have those side pouches.
Overall an outstanding pack and for the price, very hard to beat

I bought a pack for my self, and after useing it, I went back and bought one for my dad! I would highly recamend this pack. It is just big enough to haul guide books or lunch or dog stuff, but small enough to be light and easy to carry. It also has lots of pockets, which is always a good thing!

Great design, lightweight so that I almost forget I'm wearing it, bladder keeps water cold for 6-8 hours even in 90 degree weather and on my back. Also the extra pocket away from the bladder compartment is great for keys, wallet, phone, music player, etc. Well worth the cheap price.
