good for white sand beaches
I was really excited to get my package of wind riders from Bass Pro Shops. I planned for a 170 miles trip to the west side of the Island that has white sand beaches. The East side is mostly Black sand beaches . On the west side Hapuna beach park and Spencer beach park. I normally fan cast to cover all the area in front of me using three retrieves, before moving on, using three retrieves. The first is buzzing or skimming the surface which draw reaction strikes. Second, my favorite is the stop and go retrieve done by pulling the rod tip 15 degree angle to the side and taking up the slack while pointing the rod tip straight to the front. The last is jigging the spoon off the bottom prompting finicky fish to strike. The wind rider resembles baby mullet abundant in the breaking surf on the sand. The Papio(Jack Crevelle ) seem to like the stop and go retrieve , but with a little longer stop than normal to let the lure flutter toward the bottom. The Omilu (bluefin Trevally) seem to like the surface buzzing , with an occasional stop to let it flutter it to the bottom. Fishing spoons is one of my favorite ways to fish and Wind Rider is on the top. You can do so much retrieve variation on this lure and it cast a mile. Highly recommend this deadly lure to anyone fishing the sandy beaches.
