Purchased for the front of my 06' Sea Doo Utopia. The product isn't built very well. Very flimsy. Didn't come with all the nuts and bolts I needed to mount. Ended up spending another $30 on stainless steel nuts and bolts to make work. Will need to bang on with hammer in a vice to tighten up tolerances, so it isn't so loose and flimsy. Seeing how it is the only game in town, that actually works for my application, once I get it dialed in, it should work great and be a lot less expensive than an actual bow mount! Once feature I like is it easily pops on/off when not in use with out taking off the motor. See my attached picture.

The slightest pressure in assembly began collapsing the plastic blocks side walls. The block is not solid and the bolts just plain cracked the block. There was any easy fix though. I cut 1/2" grey electrical pvc to fit tightly between the spaces in the blocks and then ran the bolts through these as well. They supported the blocks and stopped the strain. The shaft of the device was too loose when it was installed per directions. I corrected this by installing an aluminum rod holder bracket for the screw in type rod holders with 3/8 threads. I anchored that to my boats deck and then ran a 3/8' bolt through the shaft of the motor mount into the rod holder bracket. The mount worked great then with a 55 lb thrust Minn Kota transom mount motor on the front of my pontoon boat. You could actually do all of this in less than an hour. By the way I had to loosen the set screw and spin the control head on the motor around to keep the handle in the boat.

Yes, This mount is designed to fit many applications includeing Pontoon, Bass, Jon, runabout, sail and others. The numbers on the photo 1,2,3 and 4 on the illustration indicate the four basic poitions the bracket can be installed in. The stainless steel mounts slide together allowing the motor to be easily removed.Thanks

If I used the bracket only with the boat in the water (not on a trailer) and secured the bracket with a screw in the hole provided, would it work satisfactorily? My only purpose would be to approach quietly into redfish territory.Answers

I see no reason that it wouldn't... In fact, I have given consideration to almost the same thought-- Believing that the extra screw would both take any noisy slack out of the mount, but also make for a stronger mount as a whole. My thought is to use a thumb screw, so it is easy to part the mount as originally designed-- just one extra step.A:
