Bought this in 12lb. a few weeks ago for a baitcaster. It casts and reels smoothly. It holds knots pretty good as well. It is super abrasion resistant though. I was fishing the barnicle covered remains of an old dock and hooked up with a 22in. striped bass. It wrapped the line around a piling that was covered in barnciles and pulled it across them. I got my line off the piling and even though the line was shredded, it stayed strong and I got supper in the boat.

This is a very dependable mono. I bought 6# and 10# for a couple of my spinning rigs. Super abrasive and holds knots well. Line has a little memory but can live with it. Plan on buying 4# and 8# to spool my other rigs.

At first I hated this line.
Then, I loved it.
Then hated it again.
Then, I discovered how wonderful this line really is.
It takes getting used to, but once this line gets used it will become your best cheap line.
When I first spooled this onto my black max baitcast reel, it had such high line memory that it coiled on itself and made it impossible to spool, and it was the same with my spinning reel.
When I was learning to baitcast with it, it backlashed terribly.
Once I learned to cast, it got better.
On my spinning, it tangled terribly.
I was getting very frustrated with the line by then.
3 months later, I have a hypothesis. If I tie on a heavier lure, and fish with it, maybe the coils and loops will get smoothed out.
I was right. Tourney Tough also had another problem, it tended to stick, and casting was difficult. However, this 1/4 oz lure smoothed the kinks out, and with the continuous casting and retrieving the line eventually became easier to work with, so Tourney Tough went from an uncontrollable tangley cheap line to a cheap line that actually you can get used to, if you get over first impressions of it.
If you're afraid of wasting line learning to baitcast, or just simply go through lots of mono, try this line, and eventually, you might just fall in love with it.
And for Bass Pro, when you have little reviews in the catalogs you mail out, feel free to quote this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PaBasser A real value priced line
I like to use this as backing for my reels. That way you can use less of the more expensive lines. I have it on my baitcasters and spinning reels alike. I started using it as backing for reels spooled with braid, then I started using it on reels spooled with Fluoro and Hybrid lines. It will stretch your fishing tackle dollar for sure. Get some, you won't be sorry
