Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Combo I absolutely love this combo great reel great rod my first baitcaster and I must say very user friendly just went fishing this weekend and caught 4 monster rainbows I believe this is a must have combo!!! June 9, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great first bait caster Don't make the mistake I did in buying a short pole I was new to bait casters and had no idea what length to get so I got the 6 foot one and it's short but works very well so I got another one of these in a longer length and she's a beaut June 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by combo review nice for the money, but the normal tourney rod & reel is nicer than the combo package June 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great deal! I wish I would have bought two! Great deal for the price. I used this combo last weekend and put 15lbs. spider wire on the reel. Not one backlash! I normally use a spin cast so this was a great surprise! May 29, 2013

The side panels do not come off. Your brakes are adjusted by your 10-position externally adjustable magnetic brake system.

I put 20lb suffix 832 line on it. Is this to thin for the reel. It is the same thickness of 6lb mono. Thanks.

A:
I would put the 40lb Suffix on it. The 20lb will cut into itself.

A:
Yes. You should never go with anything less than 10 pound mono diameter with a baitcaster. Any thinner it tends to cut into its self.
