I bought a pair of seats to begin with the each seat had one scerw hole that was extremly difficult to get a screw started in while mounting. I had to use longer 1/4" screws to acheive mounting. Then the first time out once I leaned back in the seat the seat stops broke off. I was able to resolve the issue with 1/4" bolts with two nuts to replace the cheep rivets that had popped off. I would get different seats or look other places to get seats.

Bought two of these and I guess you get what you pay for, i.e. not much. First time out when I leaned back the back had no resistance and basically would not support any pressure. Son had same experience on the other seat. Poorly designed and poor materials. I am a 200 lb man, perhaps they would be ok for a child. Strongly suggest you not purchase these - I probably should take them back.

If you do not have a pedestal already on the boat you will need to purchase a base for the pedestal, the pedestal, a seat mount for the pedestal and a swivel for the seat. The base and pedestal will need to be a matching set.

The seats are universal so can be used for any part of a bass boat. Unless he already has the bracket for it to sit on, don't forget to order that as well. If it's the like a 'john boat' that just has the three benches to it, I recommend getting the adjustable bracket that has the swivel base included. It's like $30 on this site. They're easy to install and if he prefers, it's also easily removed compared to other setups. Also nice to be able to remove if he just stores the boat 'out back' for the winter so they don't get dry rot or develop mildew. I"m actually about to purchase this same seat (and the adjustable seat bracket w/swivel) for my husband for Father's Day as well. Happy shopping! :)Details:Â
