I recently baught this tinylite spincast combo at my nearest bass pro shop. Today, I used it for the first and last time. The reel performed fine on the first cast, but on the second cast the trigger mechanism broke and would not retrieve my lure. The reel is now completely useless and I landed 0 fish with it. So, all in all I would advise most consumers against buying this product.

Recently took my new "TinyLite" Spincast combo to my buddys bass pond. Took a little practice to get used to casting, way different than my 6 1/2 foot ugly stik! 4th cast with a little silver swimbait and BAM! a two pound largemouth hit hard and took off for a submerged tree. It took me better than five minutes to get him in but that little pole did it and I had a great fight. As I said what a blast, can't wait to go back!

I guess what can we all expect for this amount of money??? I saw the reviews before I bought, my fault. First off, within the first 5 minutes the reel snarled internally because it was way overfilled with some really junky line! Taking the reel completely apart (on the water) removing about 60 yards of twisted up line in front of the spool, I used it the rest of the day. First thing when I got home, put some decent line on it...trying again next time. I hope that stuff in not a representative sample of all Bass Pro shop line.... would I recomend it to a friend.....maybe not...there is a lot better out there for not much more. I just needed to burn a Bass Pro shop gift card or I would not have bought this in the first place. Cheap combos are never going to be a good buy in the long run.

I want to get my nephew a setup for Christmas and all the Shakespeare and Zebco setups for kids seemed very chinsy and looked like they won't hold up very long. This one caught my eye and seems like it would be small and light enough for a 4 year old to fish with. Also it looks like it will hold up better than the others.Answers

Definately yes. I let my buddys six year old daughter use it and she didn't want to give it back!A:Â
Yes, my nephews are 4 and 8, and both used this with ease. This is a nice set up for kids, as it is not a toy like the other kids rod and reel combos.A:Â
I have a 5 and 3 year old grandkids and this is a perfect rod for them. It is way better than the cheap cartoon rods and both of them can use this rod with ease.Top 250 Contributor

it will hold up. the thing u wanna look for is a steel reel and a nice rod. which this combo has. if u ever take it in brackish water twist off the cap on the reel and rinse it off. this protects the reel from corrosion and make sure to oil/grease it often to ensure smooth casting.Answers

It held on to a two pound fightin' mad largemouth so I would say yes.Images for this Answer

Great questions because i fish in an area where there are a lot of trout and a lot of catfish and i recently caught a 15 inch cat fish and had no problem reeling it in.Top 250 Contributor
