Rated 5 out of 5 by TinyLite Ultra Light Reel I have purchased these reels separately and with the combo as well. I have probably 6 of them at least. And I am going to buy a couple more as they get banged around by my grandsons and friends. I loan them out and use them myself. They are practically flawless. I have caught 5+ lb small mouth bass and even salmon and Dolly Varden and 18 inch Grayling up in Alaska. You can't just horse a good sized fish in on an ultra light. but that's part of the fun. The best thing is... you can actually cast all day long and not wear out your wrist and forearm with these. They are so light. I love them. September 9, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Buy I really like this little jewel. Lately I started fishing with spincast reels again after a long drought and so far this little reel has performed above my expectations. I would definitely buy this reel again. August 23, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Light & Strong Like the way this little reel feels. It is lite but seems well built. I have only used it a couple of times but so far it cast well, has further distance compared to my Zebco ultra lites. The retrieve is smooth & so is the drag. So far I have landed a 2 pound catfish with no problem. Only recommendation I have to anyone that purchases any brand of reel is to tighten the screw that holds the handle in place as I have lost these in the past. I would recomend this reel to anyone. Rated 4 out of 5 by My Favourite reel They are so light yet so efficient. Unfortunately they don't last for ever as I use them in SALT water. I just keep buying new ones, because if they were made to last in salty conditions they would probably be too heavy for our light whiting fishing conditions. Certainly my favourite reel. NO, not really on this real. I have 6 of these and have used both 4 an 6lb line, i prefer 4. Look at your line pick-up HOUSING , If it is Chrome (old style) return/swap the reel. The line will cut into the chrome next to the line pick-up pin an cause problems. This true with ALL Shakespeare and pflueger spincast (close face) reels. The new tiny lite Gold or red combo has the new non-chrome (gray) pick-up housing. It solves all these line problems. Now this is 1 of the BEST reels i use and i use it every time i go out. I would also recommend for a larger reel the Shimano Spirex 2500 RG ! If you have never used the FIGHTING DRAG, u aint fished. Enjoy <')===<<
