Performed as expected Pedestal is an excellent alternative to a power pedestal which are becoming hard to find for the 3/4 inch pin type. It has good adjustment range for the shortest to the tallest angler. The release mechanism works ok, but could use a stiffer return spring. Other than that small issue, I would recommend this pedestal. July 24, 2014
Came in scratched Great product- hated that the finished was scratched. June 3, 2014

A:
Threaded pedestals, such as this item, connect to the base by screwing in the pedestal like a bolt. Non-threaded pedestals are connected by kwik connect which locks into the base without having to screw it in. The main difference is that the threaded pedestals are more permanent than the kwik connect. I hope this information is helpful for you.

The screwdown version has threads to hold the pedestal down. The pedestal will not swivel. The butt seat or other seat of your choice will do the swiveling.

Hi, thank you for your inquiry. The Bass Pro Shops® Threaded Pro Pedestal SKU number 1852123 is just the pedestal. You will need to add a Deck Plate (1852110) or seat base (1927973), Seat Mount (1852114 or 1852115), and a Seat Swivel (1852130). The deck plate should be installed on your boat, which will hold the pedestal in place.

The release button is plastic but the release pin is metal. Looks to be fairly well made. Should last a long time.

I don't have mine in front of me, but it is not metal. Hard rubber I believe, or plastic but not metal.
