A boat hook has a lot of uses I bought the boat hook to help me open my hard-sided pop-up Aliner camper. I'm short and the camper goes up like an A-frame cabin. The hook helps me push the top up and pull it down. I also stretch it out inside from wall to wall to hang stuff on it. Plus, it then helps maintain the camper in very high winds. I guess now I need a boat to use the hook even more! October 18, 2010
Great boat hook I have had many hooks over the years, over a 60 year period I have had at least 6 hooks. one for each boat I have kept for 10 years. This hook is light in weight, but the strength to do a good job. the adjustable length is a perfect fit, as I have my wife using it, as I dock the pontoon boat. July 20, 2010
nice light, sturdy and locks tight. only thing to watch is the tip will unscrew when we try to unlock the bar while grabbing the bottom part and the tip. When locking, leave the top section about 6 inches away from the bottom section, then you 'll have room for your hand to grip on the top part while twisting the bottom part. Handy while docking or grabbing ropes..etc. good value for the price. September 12, 2013
Handy Piece of Gear This product is a "must have" item on any type of boat. I wanted one to catch the lines when I fish with jugs. It works great for that, but I found many other uses for this tool. It extends to a 93in lure retriever from my errant casts into trees. I also use it to handle docking lines during one-man docking operations. Each outing shows me another use for this tool April 26, 2010

A:
When holding the outer shaft, twist the hook (inner shaft) counterclockwise to loosen it. Pull the inner shaft out to the desired extension length and twist it clockwise to lock it firmly in place.

The plastic hook end came already attached to the pole when I purchased it in March 2010. I did not have to order it or make a specific designation separate from ordering the pole.

It comes with the pole. It is threaded so that you can change it out for other items such as a brush or a squeegy. If the hook breaks it can be replaced for a nominal fee.
