You get what you pay for I got this combo for my son when he made the transition from a push button reel to an open face. The rod is right on par for a cheap combo. Not great but perfectly usable for a kids pole. The reel works fine but has a cheap feel to it and the anti reverse only engages in one position per revolution. Overall it is a decent combo for the price. July 1, 2014
Not Good I got two of these products for my Kids and one of the reel just doesnt work. June 14, 2014
Good Little Rig Bought two of these for my nieces. They were ready to upgrade from worm and bobber fishing to fishing with lures. They cast fine and the reel is smooth. Good little combos. It had enough backbone for this nice trout. April 7, 2014
good value The rod an reel combo a very good value for the price. My wife and I bought two and use them for crappie and bass. The anti reverse is a little weak, but the fighting drag on the bottom is a great feature. It makes a great starter combo for grand-children, so we bought two more. March 6, 2014

I like Crappie Max http://www.basspro.com/Crappie-Maxx-Super-Vis-Fishing-Line/product/11090205012218/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT 10 pound test on this combo(it's my go to line for most of my kids poles). It works well and does not break the bank. I defiantly would not put anything real expensive on this combo. It's a low end combo so string it up with low cost line.

We use 6 weight on the ultralight combo. Seems to give us a good balance between feel, strength and invisibility. Brand is your preference.

I would put on about 8-10 pound line.

It works well. Just to tell you it gets tangled really easy.
