A must for saltwater fishermen Just look at the picture I have enclosed below. Talk about used and abused and guess what? They still work! These have been dropped, chunked, thrown, beat, submerged, run over and yet they still survive to provide years of service still. Now, mine are used mainly for surf fishing and have held up to the harsh conditions very well. Sure they are no beauties anymore but they still function. Theyy are right at home when trying to remove 16/0 circle hooks from smaller sharks. January 31, 2008
Not just for fishing I actually learned of this tool's existence on a DIY web site. I bought it to reach into the deep, dark places that seem to attract small screws and bolts. Held off buying due to it just being a "nice to have", instead of a need. Then, I got a gift card for BPS, decided to splurge and get one. Looking it over, I like the simplicity of the mechanism. If it ever goes south on me, I am sure I can rig it back together. The only change I would like would be for the "trigger" to be closer to the grip, and reduce the "trigger" swing. December 7, 2012
Very good ,a must have. I have used these now for a month and love them. I agree with the reviewers you need these I havent lost a hook yet either. I like these because they are skiny and long and only the jaws on the end moves unlike the long pliers where when you open them there is a long jaw that opens and makes it more dificult. I would really get a pair of these they are better than the hook remover long pliers. I put a key chain float on mine incase my kids drop it in the water they want be gone. June 15, 2009
Bass Pro Shops Stainless Steel Hook Remover Exactly what I wanted - a great addition to the tackle box. Have just begun trout fishing again after years of absence and this makes digging the hook out a breeze. Would recommend without the least bit of hesitation. August 8, 2011
