I had high hopes for this griddle, but it left me wanting more. To keep the cost and weight down the top is thin stainless steel. Stainless doesn't transfer heat as well as plain steel. If the heat source you place the griddle on is localized, there will be hot spots and the heat doesn't transfer well to the entire surface. Also after about 30 burgers the grease trough is full. There needs to be a provision for a drain hole and a place to hang a grease cup or the unit needs to be removed from the heat source and dumped. This is inconvenient when you are cooking 80 burgers and 55 hotdogs for an event.

Yep we bought one and LOVE it. Was recomended that we "season" it like a cast iron grill and we did. It works awsome and thx to the seasoning it is easy to use and clean. We treat it like a cast iron grill now. Would recomend to anyone needing a large grill for cooking big meals anywhere.

You don't season stainless steel. It is not like Cast Iron. Give it a spray of Pam for Grilling when the grill gets up to temperature and throw the food on.A:
You don't... You go with Cast Iron. Easier to season, easier to clean and lasts forever. I'm using the cast iron that belonged to my great grandmother on a daily basis which makes it cheaper than anything else out there.Rant done. Try lightly oiling with pan with either bacon fat or crisco shortening (vegetable oil works too, but not as well) and keep you heat at medium or lower.
Hope this helps.

It is not necessary to season a stainless steel griddle just as you wouldn't season a SS pot or pan you use in the kitchen. Seasoning creates carbon deposits that make a surface rust resistant, smooth and non-stick, great for cast iron pans. Stainless steel is already very smooth and requires nothing more than a good cleaning with soap and water between uses and a little oil when you are cooking.1 of 1
