Rated 5 out of 5 Decent Hook Remover
I've used this in saltwater for a month and it has been very effective for removing single hook lures from bluefish and striped bass. I rinse and dry the hook remover after each use and then give a light coat of WD-40. So far the only sign of very slight corrosion is at the tip of the extractor.

This item works well with larger mouthed fish but did not work with the bluegills I caught.

i have used it multiple times with treble hooks and it works just fineA:Â
I don't use trebles but I I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work.Top 1000 Contributor
A:Â
You could add a treble, in place of the single trailer hook as long as you're not in the weeds. Bait is heavy enough that it's wouldn't be affected and will run trueAnswers

These rods will just about bring in any fish. They are very sturdy and a great value for the money.Details:Â
My kids wait too long to set the hook and it's difficult to get the hooks out of those little bluegill mouths when they're deep. Looks like a nice design concept, just curiousif it's small enought to fit in a small bluegill's mouthAnswers
A:Â
Yes, it small enough to get in a small bluegill.A:Â
most of the timeA:Â
deep hooks in a bluegill = cut the lineA:Â
Depending on the size of the bluegill it should. It's diameter is just a hair bigger than a Bic Pen.A:Â
I doubt it would work on anything smaller than a crappie or perch.Top 1000 Contributor

I think these are the best removers out there. They pull hooks from all sizes of fish.A:Â
I use small pliers instead. You just dont have enough room to maneuver. They are better for larger hooks or treble hooks.Answers
A:Â
Simply grab the hook with the remover and pop it out. It is simple and won't harm the fish.A:Â
Just put it in the fish's mouth down to the hook. Hook the loop on the end of the hook remover around the hook and squeeze the two handles together to grip the hook. Twist or push it and remove the hook.A:Â
VERY EASY TO USE. THERE IS A SMALL HOOK AT THE END YOUR HOOK GOES INTO. WHEN YOU PULL THE TRIGGER, IT TIGHTENS INTO A V SHAPE AT THE BASE OF THE TOOL AND HOLDS WELL UNTIL YOU GET THE HOOK OUT.A:Â
this hook remover works great, simply squeese the handle and remove the hookA:Â
Just bought it and used for the first time this weekend and loved it. Truly works to get the hard to reach hooks safely from fish mouthA:Â
You grasp the hook at the bend and push straight back. Where you used to use your fingers to get into the bend of the hook, the tool does the work for you without you getting a hook into a finger. The tool can get closer to the point of hook entry into the fishes flesh.A:Â
Place the tool around the hook and push down on the handle....easy..just like Bill DanceA:Â
Not very well. Stick with long-handled forceps or needlenose pliers.A:Â
It has a small 'hook' protruding out of a tube. You 'hook' the fish hook that is down the throat of the fish and pull with two fingers and that traps the fish hook very solidly against the end of the tube. Now you have all the leverage and grip that you need to twist the fish hook just right to easily get it free and out of the fish mouth. Anyone can do it.A:Â
Grasps the shaft or bend of the hook at a right angle (perpendicular) firmly so you can back the hook out with no slipping1 of 1
