I started out with the Bill Dance model of this item and now I have 4, two in my saltwater box and two in my freshwater box. In saltwater, trout and snapper have fang teeth and this hook remover doesn't seem to care.....I went fishing with a friend the other day and he just fell in love with this item so the last one I bought was for him....Price is right and works great.

I have always used pliers to remove hooks and thought it was just fine until I purchased this tool. it works more quickly than pliers and can easily remove hooks that have been swallowed by fish fast and humanely. Saves time and fish. Great tool.

You could add a treble, in place of the single trailer hook as long as you're not in the weeds. Bait is heavy enough that it's wouldn't be affected and will run true

My kids wait too long to set the hook and it's difficult to get the hooks out of those little bluegill mouths when they're deep. Looks like a nice design concept, just curiousif it's small enought to fit in a small bluegill's mouth

Depending on the size of the bluegill it should. It's diameter is just a hair bigger than a Bic Pen.A:Â
I doubt it would work on anything smaller than a crappie or perch.

i used it on a deep hooked perch i caught for bait without killing it the bluegill was about 6in longA:Â

I use small pliers instead. You just dont have enough room to maneuver. They are better for larger hooks or treble hooks.Answers

Simply grab the hook with the remover and pop it out. It is simple and won't harm the fish.

Just put it in the fish's mouth down to the hook. Hook the loop on the end of the hook remover around the hook and squeeze the two handles together to grip the hook. Twist or push it and remove the hook.A:Â
