We bought and tried this smoker and had awful results. The pan that holds the charcoal kept falling out of the bottom. Not sure if we are missing something??

This item is ok for the $$$ i do have to say that the temp gauge is junk now... Seems to have gotten "smoked up" on the first go around.

This is a nice little unit. However it needs a new thermometer. The thermometer it comes with doesn't read a temp it tells you warm, ideal, and hot. I ended up buying a new thermometer and installing it on this unit. Still not bad for the price.

by flexoguy Good for the long haul
My wife and kids bought this smoker for me as a Father's Day present in 2005. I have lost count of how many pounds of meat and veggies I have smoked in this unit. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but the learning curve is quick if you understand BBQ,
Double slabs of ribs, brisket, pork, whole chickens are unbelievable. The secret is the water pan which keeps the meat moist through the smoking process.
It is a little time consuming because you have to add charcoal to the fire every 30 minutes or so. Make sure you have some wood chips and well. This will add to the flavor of the meat.
Bang for the buck, this smoker will compete against the units selling for $200 or more just be prepared to work a little for the reward of great smoked meats.
