I bought this Bass Pro Shops® Rod Holder Twin Pack, installed them on my boat, as I was installing them It look like they would work well.. NOT ! first hook up rod went right down, thought I was going to loose my rod & reel to the water. I got to it just in time. At first I thought I didn't tighten down the wing nut enough. then it happened again and then the same thing happened to the other one. The gear set cannot be set tight enough to keep form falling under a load.. Might work for bobber fishing but you better hope you don't hook up a real finn.

I recently purchased a deep v tracker which has the versatrak channel. The want $50 a piece for their versatrak rod holders! I got 2 of these for half the price of one of theirs and they work just fine in the versatrak channel.

I bought 5 of these rod holders and the soft plastic parts dont last under heavy use. I can honestly say I think these are the worst rod holder on the market. I replaced mine in under a year. But I trolled 3 days a week... If you want a High quality plastic rod holder get the scottys!!! They are A much harder plastic and unbelievably strong for the price.

Purchased 3 sets almost 2 yrs ago and still in use today. Red foam interior lining takes a lot of abuse, but its mostly intact. Only need to changeout lever flip that keeps tilt angle locked. Heavy fish like stripers or large catfish will pull the tilt down under pressure. Unable to tighten enough to maintain upward settings without jumping the plastic gear. Changed all 6 to 1/4 inch bolt and wingnut which fits same hole and now locks down with no more slippage. Now works perfectly and holds its angle as set. Great for the price!
