DOA Don't waste your money on this item. I'm returning the one I bought because it will not grasp/pull the 4# or 6# or 8# line. I needed it badly, but it is a piece of junk. I'd go with the larger, stronger and heavier Berkley model... if you can find it. Bass Pro doesn't offer it any more as a separate item. February 6, 2012
Good buy This is a great buy. Its really cheap for being so good. If you ever need to strip some line off a reel or sharpen a hook, it will get the job done fast. June 23, 2011
BPS Reel stripper I looks good, and it works. However, because it is underpowered, it doesn't strip the line as fast as bigger models. It could be a good second tool for carrying in the glove compartment of your boat. It would take little space. June 21, 2011
Cleans a reel in about 30 seconds! This is the second one of these I have had the first was a Berkley brand.I just purchased the Bass Pro stripper and have used it on 5 reels and I love it ! I hate to change line on a reel without one of these.Run the line in the stripper and hold over a garbage can and spool will be empty in about 30-45 seconds.Easy as that, can't beat it for old line removal ! A:
The only help this unit will offer for taking out a bird's nest will be to hold the reel in position as you hand strip the line. The battery operated stripper supplied most likely will not eat the bird's nest so you are left to strip it off by hand. If you stop when the nest is gone, the remaining line will be left on the reel.

Yes, the battery operated stripper will certainly work on a spincast reel.

A:
Yes, just keep the bail closed and loosen the drag and it simply removes the line with no problems.
