I bought this stripper because I was tired of doing it by hand. Strips down in minutes. The light helps when fishing at night and you need to remove some line due to a rat's nest. Just a great tool.

I purchased a this product along with the line spooling station. Together they make stripping and re-spooling less of a chore. Great products!!

does not work on lines 6# or less...poor pull strength on heavier lines....was a waste of money

I have put a few sets of batteries in this over the course of the last 2 years, as I change my line on multiple rods a lot, and it's still going. The hook sharpener is better than a rock, but not that great. As far as stripping line, this thing really shines. Getting a new one soon and a couple for friends who have seen it in actio0n and used mine also., AND for $12, you can't go wrong.

no...birds nest will stall on heavy lines and unit will slip on light (6#-8#)A:Â
No it will not, if the line is looped down in the reel carriage. This tool is for getting old line off the reel quickly. I do not take all the old line off, I stop about 3/4 down the spool and using a special knot I tie the two lines together and respool.A:Â
No. You need to untangle your bird nest first.A:Â
The only help this unit will offer for taking out a bird's nest will be to hold the reel in position as you hand strip the line. The battery operated stripper supplied most likely will not eat the bird's nest so you are left to strip it off by hand. If you stop when the nest is gone, the remaining line will be left on the reel.A:Â
