Safeguard every one of your spinning reels from rain, UV rays and corrosion with a Bass Pro Shops® Spinning Reel Cover. Designed to accommodate spinning reels with the handle on the left-side, this reliable neoprene reel cover provides the protection your reels need. Imported. Color: Black.
Keeps the reel from being scratched. Can be a little tricky getting on with the handle hole being so small.

Got two for my spinning reels which I use very often. Good for keeping out dust, but not really that durable for other things like small drops and such. I noticed the material tears open relatively easy, but I'd expect them from metal on the inside rubbing on rocks on the outside. The good thing is they're pretty inexpensive, and look stylish like you mean business when you get on the river.

BPS spinning reel covers
These reel covers are a good buy for the money. Cheap and easy protection from scratching damage when moving/traveling around, or storage.
The only down side, and reason for the 3 stars, would be they are not 100% neoprene. Only the top part that protects the spool and sides that contact the arm of the reel. The rest of the cover is made of a nylon type fabric, like tent material but a little heavier. If they were made 100% neoprene they would be more protective to scratches (inside of cover), and a little more padding for resisting impact.
Like I said easily a 5 star awsome product if it were 100% neoprene like the baitcaster version.

I need more of them
What a handy reel cover and it wont cost you very much either. I will buy more of them for my other reels and if you keep your rods and reels in the garage, it will keep the reel clean.

I use these to cover all my reels even my large Shimano Baitrunners. The front of the cover streches a good bit. It only works on reels with handles on the left, but to try to answer your question, I am not for sure how large your reel is but for the price it's worth the try, because they have saved me alot of money in reel repair. I would take the chance and buy one to see you can always return it.
I have same problem you have. To save your money and gift here's what I do. Loosen the handle and put it in the folded position and then place the cover over the reel works great for me and this way I am protecting my handle also. It only takes a few seconds to fold the handle back into fishing position. It's worth a few seconds to save a reel. Hope this works for you. Good Luck
At the very least you will need to have some slack coming out of the reel. I suggested adding a slot or slit to the cover to take the line into consideration. Would not trade having to re-rig in order to use reel cover unless it was for extended protection.
Since the top is made of neoprene I would say no. But, you have to willing to do 1 or 2 things to be comfortable with it. Here are the 2 best ways I've found.
1. just loosen the line slightly., if your rig can indure some slack without snagging or tangling you'll be fine. 2. Or you can try this (I did). Use a razor and slice a 1, 1-1/2 inch slit into the neoprene from the line inward. Then use a 1/16 size bit to put a hole at the end of the cut ( or try a very small "X" cut). The line threads easily through. The razor allows the neo to seal back together without a gap for the line to slide in and out of. Give it a try!
