Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality product, good price We've used them on four trips now and they're perfect for our boat & trailer (12' aluminum fishing boat). I'm sure they'd be fine for a much larger/heavier craft as well. August 1, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Boat straps I replaced my boat straps wich were the buckle type I love these a lot beter easy to use took under five minutes from the package to the boat defiantly worth the money August 1, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than original equipment I have spent many years wrestling with the transom tie downs provided with the boat I purchased. That is no longer the case. Simply apply the hooks to the upper and lower supports and rachet them to the desired tightness. It takes just a couple of minutes. Removing them is equally simple...just lift the lever and loosen. A good purchase. June 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ratchet Tie-down Just starting using these on my bass boat. These replaced some old buckle straps that were on the boat. These work really well. You can get these really tight or leave them somewhat loose depending on your needs. These will lock in place when you get them where you want them. March 23, 2011

The range from my boat to my trailer is fairly short. I have purchased two other tie down sets to replace the wearing ones I have. I could not make either of the ones I purchased short enough to hold tight. Thanks

A:
If the strap is long pull the end through the rachet slot and wind up. Its ok if the strap double up on the wind as long as the strap is not supper long.
