Bass Pro Shops® Prowler® TSW55/36B Transom Mount Saltwater Trolling Motor
Prowler Trolling Motor
We bought this motor from Bass Pro Shop several months ago for a small sailboat. It puts out a lot of thrust (55 lbs) and is lightweight and very well made. It doesn't seen to require much juice, although we usually don't need to turn it up to full power. We are extremely pleased with this maintenance-free motor, rather than the messy/noisy gas motors we had before.

I bought one of these about 3 months ago.Third time out the prop fell off.I have three other motors all minnkotas and have never lost a prop before and have several other minnkotas over the years and never lost a prop. The prop is plastic and gets tore up bad if you hit bottom or anything with it(very cheap).I used a stainless lock nut when I replaced prop and it has stayed on this time. The shaft is chrome plated (very thin plate I guess because it is rusting all over it already. The motor part is ok and moves my 16 ft tracker pretty well but would never buy another one of these.I would go with minnkota or motor guide.

I bought this motor for my canoe because they were out of the fresh water model that day and, to have that model shipped to my house it was a break even deal. It is a bit over kill for thrust for my 16' Old Town Canoe but I was concerned about the winds that blow on my reservoir from time to time. This is mounted with the Bass Pro Shop canoe motor mount that too has worked great.
I have used this motor now for three seasons and it has worked great so far. Yes it does wobble if you go too fast but I don't have a problem with that. I would recommend that you secure this motor with a lanyard to be save.
