Rated 5 out of 5 Crowd Pleasing
Each trip we make to the deserts of Southern California, we have a huge deep fry. We do all kinds of appetizers that are truly crowd pleasing. We do hot wings, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, mushrooms, green beans, chimichangas, chicken strips, mini corn dogs, freshly prepared potatoes for French fries and the tried and true favorite of corn tortilla chips! This is the perfect size for all our delightful appetizers. Our turkey sized deep fryer is bigger and bulkier to pack and take, plus you have to use so much more oil to fill the turkey fryer.

Rated 5 out of 5 That's some good fish
I've had one of these cookers for a while and just bought another for my son. Had a large fish fry, and cooked fish and potato's for hours. The last was as good as the first. Easy to use, and keeps any mess outside. It was easy to clean, and put away. There is no limit to the things I can cook with this set up. Thanks and be safe.

This is a great value! Not only used for camping, but not need to cook fish or chicken in the house ever again.

For the $$ you can't beat it.
I've used it several times in the past couple weeks and it is a great cooker for the money.

At $30, could I go wrong with this stove for emergency preparedness? For example, could I use my other pots and pans on this, or is the burner circumference too wide?Answers
A:Â
Other pans can work fine as long as they are not large like turkey fry pans. large pans can turn over and may be heavier then the stand is built to handle. They can not have a handle that can be set on fire.Top 1000 Contributor
A:Â
pans used should at least 12 inches in diameter or use a metal plate over the burner for smaller pansA:Â
You can use this for what ever you need to heat up. Maple syrup is my favorite. Whiskey still, boil water to de-feather water fowl, stew tomatoes. What ever your little heart desires. Use any pot or pan you would use in any other cooker or on your kitchen stove.A:Â
Definitely. This would be an excellent stove for emergency use.A:Â
It has "fingers" that go in to the center so you can put a smaller pan on it. I used one very similar in the summer when the power went out. The only catch is these are high heat burners so it's near impossible to have a "low" setting.Answers

May not have air to gas ratio set correctly , check out flame color at top of flame1 week, 5 days ago

Maybe the regulator is bad or try opening the propane tank slowly before lighting the burner as there is a safety unit inside the tank valve that does not allow full flow of fuel if it's opened quickly. They just started this about 1 1/2 years ago to my knowledge.A:Â
Probably a bad regulatorA:Â

How much oil, and what kind of oil are you using? I use one gallon of peanut oil and it reaches 360 in about 5 minutes with ease. Also are you turning up your regulator pressure?Answers

Here is a great way to determine how much oil you will need:(1) Place the food product in the basket.
(2) Place the food product and holder into the empty vessel.
(3) Fill the vessel with water just until the food product is completely submerged. There must be a minimum of 3 inch (8 cm) between the water level and top of the vessel.
(4) Remove the food product from the vessel and either mark the water level on the side of the vessel or measure the amount of water in the vessel.
(5) Remove the water and completely dry the vessel and the food product.
(6) This is the amount of cooking oil the vessel is to be filled with to cook the food
product.
