Reel:
If you fish tournaments, you’ve seen plenty of Pro Qualifier reels in use. The reason: tourney anglers need smooth, reliable reels they can count on, and for many the Pro Qualifier remains the hands-down performance standard. Our finest version yet has retained the ultra-slim body design, popular Mag Spool Technology™, and premium eight-bearing system with double-shielded stainless steel ball bearings and Powerlock™ instant anti-reverse. But we’ve added our Carbon Fiber Sealed Drag, a major upgrade for long-term smoothness, power, and consistency—you’ll love it! Meanwhile, all the tourney-grade features are here: the lightweight anodized-aluminum body/sidecovers; forged-aluminum spool; stainless steel bail wire and mainshaft; strong machined-aluminum handle. Includes a FREE spare aluminum spool. Line recovery in inches per handle turn.

Rod:
Gary Parsons and Keith Kavajecz have applied their expertise to create some of the most advanced rod systems ever designed for walleye fishing. All of these incredible rods feature top-quality materials: exclusive Powerwall high-grade graphite blanks -- light and strong, extending right through the handle for maximum sensitivity; precision actions geared for specific walleye techniques; free-flowing Fuji® Concept guides; advanced graphite reel seats, and premium cork or EVA handles. All in all, these are the lightest, toughest, most responsive 'eye rods on the market, and we're proud to offer them at a price that will leave you a few extra bucks for bait. All models except WA86SB-T are equipped for use with our XPS™ Balance Kit, sold separately.

Details:
Which rod type would you recommend for the occasional angler fishing for walleye from an 16' boat with 3 people? We usually use minnows and leaches. I currently have a bait caster with a med. action Ugly Stick, and I don't seem to be able to tell when the fish picks up the bait? I thought I would try a spinning reel combo with the Med. Lt action, but what lenght also?

A:
If you are fishing from a boat and didnt need to really throw out your bait that far then you would probably go with a 6' - 6'6" med or med heavy rod. Any longer and you will probably have a hard time on a 16' boat with 3 people. This rod is very sensitive and can feel every nibbles. Good luck and hope this help out.
