Wow, I am impress of the finish and quality of this rod,and being an IM8 graphite blank,it can't go wrong in performance.I loaded some line on the Pro Qualifier with some small diameter 12lb. fluorocarbon line.Set the internal centrifugal brake at 2 (on) one across each other. Then I would set-up my weight on my lure at the slowest movement coming out the spool with the cast control knob and my magnetic setting at 6,since it is set at a higher settings, I normally like to whip my lines out,instead of a hard tossing it out. I am new to the baitcasting reels, so I was very happy to have set the line without any bird nest at the end of the spool with my whip casting.If it wasn't for the anglers here on the Bass Pro Shop Forum,I wouldn't have gotten far to where I am now from learning how to set the Pro Qualifier baitcaster correctly,it took awhile to learn the functions of the Dual Braking System and use all it's features to achieve it to the maximum performance of the Pro Qualifier. With the two combining set-up of the combo. I choose the 7' MH Fast action rod,as it gives me a faster setting of the hook. It is quick and clean, it's not a JM Carbonlite rod,but I am very happy to purchase this combo set.I have caught some good size fish with this rig and I am confident to get the bigger ones without any fail's on the rod and reel combo from BPS. I got this as my backup rig for $99.99 as well,seems that I got the rod free for this purchase combo and my other rig is the other combo from BPS ,it's the Pro Qualifier with the JM Carbonlite 7-6"at MH with the fast action,that is my primary rig,but it also has a 15lb.small dia./ .330mm fluorocarbon line on a deep spool on 5.2:1 ratio to crank the big ones in. I do love the PRICE,that's what gives me the smile on my face..You just can't beat this combo's for the price offer compare too the higher price rigs out there.Don't get me wrong,just because it's cheaper,doesn't me mean it's quality and performance are not there,get it,you'll never go back to the others,it saved me some cash to pick up jigs,lines gas and food.....
