The reason: tourney anglers need smooth, reliable reels they can count on, and for many the Pro Qualifier Reel remains the hands-down performance standard. Our finest version yet has retained the ultra-slim body design, popular Mag Spool Technology™, and premium eight-bearing system with double-shielded stainless steel ball bearings and Powerlock™ instant anti-reverse. But we’ve added our Carbon Fiber Sealed Drag, a major upgrade for long-term smoothness, power, and consistency—you’ll love it! Meanwhile, all the tourney-grade features are here: the lightweight anodized-aluminum body/sidecovers; forged-aluminum spool; stainless steel bail wire and mainshaft; strong machined-aluminum handle. Includes a FREE spare aluminum spool.

Definitely the best spinning reel I ever had under 70 bucks. Super smooth retrieve and drag. Very satisfied.

I ordered two of these reels to replace older reels of another brand. I found that these reels are smooth, preform well and I really like the wide spool design for further casts and virtually no line twisting.

I like this reel particularly because of its wide spool diameter, which gives longer and easier casts. Many lightweight reels have spool diameters so small that it really reduces the cast. My wife and I have been fishing with this reel for a while, and we haven't encountered any problems with it.

Purchased a BPPQ 40 last winter. EXTREMELY happy i did! Intented its use to be exclusively for catching 4-7 lb. Hybrid Bass in the spring. But, last season I fell in love with this reel. I attached it to a Carbonlight 6' 8"med.light action rod and was landing Walleys in the 24" slot. It soon discovered it was equally good at landing 'trophy' smallmouth in the 16-20 inch slot. With this combination, I also accomplished a LIFE LONG DREAM and Goal. I landed my first 20" Smalmouth (in Missouri and from a stream!!!)This combination provides the fisherman super long cast (added stealth when wade fishing). It also offers them exceptional strength for landing most any fish you encounter. Not listed as the recommended line weight... I instead spool this model 'exclusively' with 6 lb. (moss green) P-Line NOT 8 lb. It takes more line, but the expense is negated by spectacular catches. ONLY ONE PROBLEM so far...It is extremely difficult switching between one spool and the other. Yet, it successively fishes 30 lb.braid and those expensive florocarbon lines very well.
