I bought two of these seats for my 1996 Bass Tracker Panfish 16 that I just rebuilt. The seats are very comfortable but if you lean back in seat it flexes WAY to much. There is very little support for the seat back. These are awesome seats if you don't lean back at all but if you are the fisherman that likes to kick back and put his feet up this is not the seat for you.

Wright out of the box worth every penny even though you have to reinforce the base of it and put a little lock tight on the screws!! common sense!! To fix the seat go to a metal shop and get 1/4 inch aluminum plate THE SAME SIZE AS THE BASE OF THE SEAT a lot of times they will sell you a cut off or a scrap peace. I paid under $10.00 and they cut it for me!!

I was very excited to add these beatiful seats to my newly restored wood drift boat. Then I was extremely disappointed when one of them broke after only three days on the water and with relatively light fishing clients sitting in the seat. The bottom of the seat broke and the back came backward at a bad angle. Also, the screws started falling out before I'd even used it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Steve947 Very comfortable but buyer beware
I got this seat because it is very comfortable. I have a 16ft lund, an older version of a WC with a 25hp tiller motor, that I have been running around our lake in. I put 170 miles on it this summer in 3 days and my back was not real happy with me. The boat has standard wood bench seats that I have always used a square boat cushion on - no back support. So next trip up I have a real seat. I also picked up a jon boat seat clamp. I dont know how well I like the combo in all honesty. I may modify the base with a rigid ( non-swivel) bracket as I want something sturdy.
Due to the "weak base" reports on this seat I am adding a steel sheet metal plate to distribute the load better. The plate is sandwiched between the pedestal mount and seat bottom, right against the plastic. It should better support the back of the base from the load put on it by the seat back. Hopefully it works. If not I will come up with something better.
I give the seat a 3 and "would recommend" because it is comfortable, however I am adding the "buyer beware" clause because the seat should have some reinforcement.
