I was very excited to add these beatiful seats to my newly restored wood drift boat. Then I was extremely disappointed when one of them broke after only three days on the water and with relatively light fishing clients sitting in the seat. The bottom of the seat broke and the back came backward at a bad angle. Also, the screws started falling out before I'd even used it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Steve947 Very comfortable but buyer beware
I got this seat because it is very comfortable. I have a 16ft lund, an older version of a WC with a 25hp tiller motor, that I have been running around our lake in. I put 170 miles on it this summer in 3 days and my back was not real happy with me. The boat has standard wood bench seats that I have always used a square boat cushion on - no back support. So next trip up I have a real seat. I also picked up a jon boat seat clamp. I dont know how well I like the combo in all honesty. I may modify the base with a rigid ( non-swivel) bracket as I want something sturdy.
Due to the "weak base" reports on this seat I am adding a steel sheet metal plate to distribute the load better. The plate is sandwiched between the pedestal mount and seat bottom, right against the plastic. It should better support the back of the base from the load put on it by the seat back. Hopefully it works. If not I will come up with something better.
I give the seat a 3 and "would recommend" because it is comfortable, however I am adding the "buyer beware" clause because the seat should have some reinforcement.

by rsroy weak base
I sat in the seats at the store great comfort, bought two for my boat. I was immeadiately concerned on how far back they tilted and the flexing of the base. One seat lasted almost two months (5 trips) before it broke, I only weight 195 lbs. Took it back and exchanged it so I still had a match. Sat in the store models again and they don't flex like the ones I have even though they are mounted exactly the same. Plan to modify mine to beef them up.

I bought 3 of these seats to "upgrade" the seating in my boat. Mounted them on new Swivl-Eze® Wedge Power Pedestals. Looked great, very comfortable. Threw out my old seats. Really regretting that now.
First time on the water noticed the seat backs bending very far back. Note that the person sitting on the seat weighs about 180 lbs. Next day noticed that the plastic base had cracked right where it was mounted to the pedestal. Also noticed some of the bolts at the hinge were very loose, some falling out. When I tightened them up, found that if I tightened them right up, the hinge would no longer work. Had to leave them slightly loose. I know I'll be picking them up off the floor again before too long.
These are very poorly constructed seats and I would not recommend them to anyone. I don't understand how other reviewers have not found the same thing. I bought them because of the high ratings and the good price.
I will be returning these seats as soon as possible.
