I got the parka because the frog togs were not keeping me dry....hummmm. 5/10/2014 pairs landing state park fishing the Austen peay bass tournament on the Tenn river. It was raining 50-75 yards visiabilty standing still. I got just as wet wearing bass pro qualifier parka as I would have wearing my frog togs. leaked like crazy from my shoulders down the front and we had not even blasted off yet. went to the dock got out of the rain changed my shirt put the frog togs on then the bass pro qualifier parka stayed dry the rest of the moring. I went ahead and sealed the seams with camp dry it better work or theses thing are going back. still frustrating though paying couple hundred bucks for somthing that wont keep you dry

Great Rain gear. works very well.
Good design, lot's of pockets.
Even had to buy my girl a set (Jacket&Pants) for our Bluefin Tuna trip last year to Canada.
Keep us both warm & dry.
I even fish in -20 wind chill this past winter, with only 2 or 3 pretty light layers under it.
Highly Recommend. Actually like the design much better than the 100MPH goretex that BP has. Especially in the Pants/Bib. Because the legs unzip all the want up making them much easier to take off & put on.
The 100MPH only unzip part way up the lower leg & are gusseted at the bottom.

I purchased a pair of the Pro Qualifier pants a few years ago and they have been great and I thought the jacket would be no different. This thing is about as water proof as a screen door. The front zipper is horrible for a $200 dollar jacket. It should have been made with a water proof zipper like the 100 MPH jacket is and not just on the pockets. There are two flaps that are supposed to cover the front zipper, but velcro every 6 inches does not create a good water barrier. This provides no protection at all. Two hours into the fishing trip (with medium rain coming down) I was soaked. The good thing about BPS is they took it back no questions asked. For a medium to light weight "run to the grocery store" jacket, it would be great. For an "I'm fishing all day in the rain" jacket, not so much.

The Jacket is very tight and wind resistant, but would require some under layers for warmth - a sweatshirt, fleece line, etc. but can be breezy underneath if cinch cords are not used (I like the ventilation as I tend to overheat). Have not had jacket in rain, but shields fog and light drizzle. Lots of pockets. Double zipper front with over-flap with hook/loop closure. A bit pricey, but it is Gore-Tex and looks like it will last a good while. I would have preferred fewer Gore-Tex branding on exterior, but it was marketed in weather proof fishing attire, but I use it for a general every day jacket. Hood is not removable - made with jacket.
