Rated 5 out of 5 by great purchase I caught four bass with this swivel. Igot a snag in the bushes and lost one but I had four left.I was so happy bacause it never bent or broke. The bass were very strong. One bass was five pounds and the next bass I caught was four pounds and this was the best swivel I ever got. I loved it so much I have one on my rod and reel right now. I forgot how much the other bass weighed. The swivel lasted 48 years because I got it from my grampy. November 11, 2010

In my experience with snap swivels, swivels, etc. the smaller the numeral number the smaller the length and the pound test of the snap, i.e. a number 1 snap or swivel is generally 3/4" to 7/8" long. The pound test of a #1 is generally 10 to 15lb.

#1 is the smallest and #3 is the largest. Now they offer a #4 as well... I just wonder how many pound test this #4 is because I'm interested in using it for saltwater. I'll buy some #4's and try it then I'll get back with you on that. I hope they're at least 30lb. I think thats the standard for #4's anyway. I'll let ya know!

I can't answer your specific question but I can tell you that BPS normally lists the length of the swivel, etc. on the specific web page in "inches" or "MM". BPS has failed to list this critical info on the product that you are questioning. Give them a call, or email if not in a rush. Be sure to tell them of the omission.

Am I supposed to just put a hook into the interlock snap, or is there a specific way(s) to rig it?
Thank you.

A:
The family of snap swivels of which there are many designs are to be used to connect the end of your line (terminal end) to a lure or other fishing device to allow for quick changing of lure's and to stop line twist.
You tie the end (terminal) of your line to the split ring on the snap swivel using one of many different fishing knot's; but the "palomar" knot is one of the better knot's for this purpose.
Open the snap swivel and attach your lure or other device (not for attaching a plain hook). Use the palomar knot to tie on a plain hook or jig, not a snap swivel.
Make sure you close the snap!
