I couldn't decide which reel to buy this qualifier or the New Rick Clunn Reel. So I bought both. The new qualifier is awesome but its not the best. I read the other reviews and they are right it beats the Revo SX I know because I bought one It easily compairs to the shimano curado. Duel breaking is amazing and allows us to cast light lures long distances with out bird's nesting our spool. With all that said, the new Rick Clunn does that but better. I bought both set the breaks the same tied on the same lures and caught fish with both and the new Rick Clunn Reel was a noticable difference. The Rick Clunn is well worht the $10 price difference. I actually returned the qualifier to get another Rick Clunn. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Rick Clunn has 1 more bearing than the qualifier, I don't know but it is smoother on the cast and retrieve and it was casting a weightless fluke further. the textured coating really made a difference on the day it was raining. The qualifier is great but I think you are better off spending the extra $10 for the new Rick Clunn reel. The only thing that could make these reels better is if you could adjust bouth breaks externally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bassfishallthetime Fantastic Baitcaster!
There are a alot of things that make the Pro Qualifer a great baitcaster. First, it is compat, light weight, and it can cast really far. It has some great features. I like the over sized cast control knob, and a lube port. The Dual Break System is the best thing about this reel. It is smiple to use. The magnetic break can be ajusted externally, and the centrifugal break can be ajusted by pulling a pin and sliding off the side cover. I like the Dual Break System, becuse it can be set to cast any thing from light weight tackle to large lures without backlash. This really is a fantastic baitcaster.

I have fished for over 30 years and own an assortment of reels, I have prefered Diawa TD Pro for most of that time, I decided on this reel due to it's balance and smoothness. After using it recently there are not enough stars for this class reel in this price range. When you pair it with the Pro Qualifer rod it puts it over the top. Buy this reel or better yet the combo soon and enjoy the experience. I bought 3 more to replace my aging Diawa's.

I just updated my arsenal this spring. Including one of these reels, and I am completely happy with this reel. Haven't had it long enough to judge it's durability, but everything else is great. It's small, feels good, casts GREAT, looks good, and is smooth. I also bought a ABU Revo-sx, the Pro-Qualifier dominates the Revo. Is on equal ground with the New 09 Curado, because of price, but the curado has the Reputation behind it. Anyway, If your in the market for a new quality reel, in the $100.00 to $200.00 range try the Pro-Qualifier, you won't be disappointed. Right now the only other reel I'd consider in this range is the Curado, but it's $80.00 more! Even a better deal is the Pro-Qual combo, great rods too. Only way this reel can disappoint me, is a year from now it explodes, but I don't think that is going to happen. By the way, I JUST bought another one of these reels. The dual brake system is really something all the companys should be making use of. It really handles well, into wind and all. I set my centrif brakes about in the middle, and the mag brakes about the same, and it casts great. Casts as far or farther than any other reel I have.
