The light/base works as advertised. If this was to be mounted mostly permanently, I would probably be bothered by the sliding locking collar on the light pole itself. It has threads molded into it, but doesn't actually thread into the base. It mainly just takes up space to keep the light pole centered in the base. It does work for what I was looking for...a removable light with a water seal for when the light is not in use.

I ordered this light beleiving the overall length was to be 14". It is not! it is 12" overall,giving 10" above the deck. How very disappointing that you had not corrected this since you had a previous review pointing this out to you.
