I have been fishing long before the advent of extremely sharp out of the box hooks...whether I was using jig & pig, rubber worms, catfishing or whatever. The practice and process of sharpening hooks is something I've always done. I have purchased these jig heads many times over the years and I sharpen them as needed as these jig heads need to be sharpened prior to use. That's the reason for my four star rating, but for the money and the thirty seconds it takes to sharpen one they are worth the price. Though I have the lead molds to make these, at about 18 cents each the Bass Pro heads are a good deal.

by PerchAHolic Great Jigheads
I have bought and tried many different types and brands of jigheads, these Bass Pro Shops jigheads are the best quality and value i have ever used, the hooks are all very sharp and you dont have to remove the coating from the line eyes before you can tie it on! this alone is the most aggravating thing I have run into trying to save a few pennys on my fishing tackle, it is simply not worth my time on the lake to sit there trying to remove this coating off each jighead. These jigheads are the best quality and value you will find anywhere, I swear by them, these are the only jigheads you will find in my tackle box!

These jig heads are great. The eye is in line with the shank so it doesnt make the bait swim sideways. The only think I like better about the gold hood jigs is that the hooks bend open easier if you get stuck on a tree limb or stump. But overall these are a great jighead for the price.
