I have owned this for almost a year. this morning on the way home from the lake one half of the "V" that holds the back of the motor sheared off taking the bungee with it. since this was only holding a 40hp motor I consider the quality of this to be very sub par. Also the rubber shock absorbers in the tube designed to absorb shock are cracked and flaking and as such they do not absorb much of anything anymore.

Very poor quality. Did not support my 90 Merc, although said it was rated to 100 HP.

this does what it is made to do... either mounts to trailer lower, if you have a center roller you can also mount that way, i always used a little black duct tape on the end so the lower unit didn't get scraped up, it lasted me 3 years, you must with any T-Saver, you need down preasure to keep the motor from turning while driving,
as for no instruction...yikes, i think i be scared to be on the lake with any boater that has to figure this out, but advise, look at a boat at the pro shop or elsewhere and see how it is installed, or better yet ask for instruction from one of the friendly and help employees at the pro shop to instruct you how to install..
look at my photos below, maybe this might help some of the rookie out there, alos NOTE: the lenght you want...should be about the same tilt as if you where running full throtle with max trim...
I just UPGRADED to a new one with the rubber feet, very nice, also the spring loaded may sound good in theroy, but i not sure how letting the motor bounce up and down is a great idea.. just my opion on that.. but may work fine.. but the point of a saver is to SAVE the Transom from the motor bouncing around and taking a beating from the bumbing roads in New England......

Just purchased this support bracket. No instruction with it, had to take it apart and study it. I'll update thIs review after a few trips to the lake.

since with a pontoon it is about support not clearance like a regular boat trailer..couple options for you, just cut a new piece of square tubing to the lenght you need to make it long and stiff use a heavier tubing, also if you don't go far and often, due what most due since the pontoon trailer are so high off the ground, put the motor all the way down, turn it all the way one way and use a rachet strap from the traler around the motor back to the trailer, all your trying to due is stop the motor from bouncing up and down and putting strain on the transom of the boat, just make sure your lower unit is still at least 18" or more off the ground and you are good to go.... done this hauling the potoon 120 miles each way twice every year......work great...

Support brackets can cost from 40 dollars to over a hundred. I find the Bass Pro Shop support bracket works very well and it cost about 40 dollars.

yes, i use it on a 60hp Mercury, if you have manual trim, make sure your bungy cord is extra tight to stop the motor from bouncing around..A:Â
