all around good gloves I purchased these gloves to go on a Smallmouth trip in December. Over all the gloves preformed well. They keep your hands warm but are a little bulky to fish with. All in all i was happy with them, plus i caught my first ever smallmouth (3 lbs) while wearing them. Thanks Bass Pro January 3, 2011
OUCH!!!! THESE ARE AMAZING GLOVES! they stop any fin from getting to your hands, ONLY if you wear both gloves i did not and a catfish got me in my hand had to go the doctor for treatment. turns out catfish have special spines with venom wich makes your hand go numb and hurt like crazy i would highly recomend BOTH gloves thanks, bass June 22, 2007
decent gloves These gloves are good for wind and cold rain resistance when fishing can be a little to cold for your hand. They offer some warmth but not for really cold days and they don't breathe as typical for neoprene. The finger holes are a great touch but I wish they were a little bit bigger and had some sort of reinforced threading to prevent tears. They kind of squeeze slightly around your finger "and I have skinny fingers!" They ripped around the hole when I tried to break it in. There good gloves for the price and since they will get dirty and fishy from use I would rather not spend more money on a better constructed pair anyway. March 8, 2011
Great at first... These gloves were great at first. Kept my hands nice & warm, able to uncover my fingers when needed to tie lines, all while ice fishing. However, by the end of the season, the main seams were splitting open. Granted, I am rough on things, but I did not abuse them. They just started to fall apart after hard use. I guess, if it really comes down to it, I can't complain a lot, seeing as I got a hardwater season out of them for under $10.00. November 7, 2007

no they are neoprene made to keep your hands warm. a pike could bite right through them but if you hold the pike like you are supposed to you can leave the gloves on and not get hurt.

Yes, these are perfect for handling catfish while protecting one's hands against the spiny fins...it isn't whiskers that can stab your hands but the dorsal and pectoral fins.
