Perfect! Decided to lighten up my bass fishing this past year and haven't looked back. The Micro Lite was an important part of the scenario. Light and durable with a nice cork handle, it makes every 3 lber seem like a fiver. December 12, 2013
UltraLight Baitcasting Purchased a BassPro Microlite rod the other day to use with my Shimano Calcutta 50, great decision! There are a couple of us that are just diehard baitcasting guys and the thought of fishing UltraLight spinning or even medium baitcasters for Smallies was killing us, Then we found this little 6'0" ML Microlite, what a great rod, sensitive, priced right and will throw 1/8 oz spinners a mile. I've got two now one for my Calcutta 50 and my new love the Abu Garcia 3600's. We are all fishing 6 lb. Yo-Zuri Hybrid and 1/8 - 1/6 rooster tails for trout and smallmouth and this is the answer if you don't like ultra light spinning rods/reels. April 6, 2010
Great rod I love the micro lite so much that I now have three of them. Best rod in my opinion for crappie. I matched the rod with the Zebco Omega Pro Z02 and I must say they complement each other well. The rod is extremely sensitive and you can really feel every litte bump yet strong enough to handle much larger fish. I wish a rod that cost this much had a hook keeper hence the 4 star rating. Micro lite Order this rod , a little supprised @ the slowness of the rod blank Will make a good trolling rod for walleyes has a lot of give when the fish picks up the bait also a good perch pole. August 30, 2011

Has anyone put a Crappie Maxx Mighty Lite Low-Profile Baitcast Reel on one of these and tried it?

Bass Pro extreme lite casting reel with 6 lb. fireline and an 8lb. fluorocarbon leader. This set-up works great for sliders and Rapalas. So far no problems.
