Rated 5 out of 5 by BiStateFisher BPS Micro Lite ML Trigger Rod Medium light casting rods are not as readily available from most other vendors as they are at Bass Pro Shops. This lighter more flexible rod is perfect for Walleye, Perch, Crappie, Blue Gill and Trout fishing. It allows the benefits of using a baitcasting or spincasting reel on a rod with the more flexible action of a spinning rod. The Micro Lite rod is well balanced with the BPS Pro Qualifier baitcasting reel. It is also well balanced with the Diawa GC80 Goldcast spincast reel. The colors of the Goldcast reel match those of the Micro Lite so well that they look like a matched set. With the features built into the Goldcast reel that does not exist with most if not all other spincast reels. The Goldcast is my preferred reel for this lighter fishing in lakes where there are no bass or musky to go after. If I were going after Bass or Musky I would be using the Pro Qualifier reel with a heavier rod and with heavier lures. The Micro Lite does give a good feel of the lightest tick of a fish just touching the lure. It seems to me that this IM6 rod is as sensitive as my IM8 fishing rods. It does have an open area on the handle just in front of the trigger to allow the index finger to touch the shaft of the rod. It is set up with nine line guides including the tip. I was surprised that this rod does not have a “hook keeper”. The hook keeper feature is not important to me. I can hook to a line guide just as we did for many years before the hook keeper became stylish. To hook onto one of those larger than expected fish that strips line from the reel with a properly set drag. The rod has bent greater that 90 degrees without breaking. I have owned IM6 rods before and they were not this strong. This rod must have the additional reinforcement materials built into it as the online catalog states. June 10, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by coolcat Good rod for crappie I have 2 of the med/light rods and love them when fishing anchored down for crappie . Really only use them with minnows but I'm confident they would work with jigs too . They are very sensitive for this type of fishing compared to cheaper rods . 4 stars for the price is too high for a 5 star rating . Good luck . February 23, 2011
