Bass Pro Shops Micro Lite Graphite Pack Spinning Rod
I bought this rod to pack into the back country. It packed well in my back pack and helped me catch enough Trout to eat well each night. I had buddies with me who had other "pack rods" but none of them could stack up against the Micro lite rod. Some of the guys wanted details on how they could get one of their own..............

Nice Pack Rod
I was looking for a nice spinning rod that I could travel with (carry-on). I wasn't sure how much I would like it when ordering online, but when the package arrived I was very pleased. It's lightweight, has good hook-setting power, and came with a nice case.
I'm a happy camper.

Great pack rod.
I've had the 5'6" UL 3 piece model for a few years, and I must say it's one of my favorite rods. Very tight at the connections, not creaky or clunky like some multi-piece rods can be. I have it paired with a mitchell copperhead reel and 4 lb flourocarbon. I've caught hard fighting bass, cats, and carp as well as light biting stream trout and panfish on this and it hasn't disappointed. The only thing that could make this pack rod better is the "case". It comes with a lightweight nylon sleeve with 3 slots, one for each piece, and a plastic tube, (more for shipping/store display) but a higher quality case can be acquired. This rod is very light, it won't wear you out packing it in or casting with it all day.

This pack rod is a good basic fishing rod. However there are 3 drawbacks. 1. the rod would be better if it had a hookkeeper, 2. The reel seat is too large to accommodate the very small fishing reel I use when packing. I had to duct tape the reel to the rod. 3. The plastic rod case is too flimsy to use if the rod is packed in on a pack animal. The rod needs a truly hard metal case.
Those issues aside, I will get a slightly larger reel to use if I go packing again, and I will certainly use the rod as a back-up spare rod.
