Bass Pro Shops Micro Lite Graphite Pack Spinning Rod
Excellent little rod!
I purchased the Bass Pro Micro-Lite ML56LS-3 (with the Pflueger 6920) for an upcoming 50 miler hiking trip. Testing the setup yesterday, I simply have to say that the pairing is likely the best in its class that I've used. The panfish and smallmouth we caught were a blast to hook and land. For the price, the tip was both exceptionally sensitive and responsive.
Simply put: It's a great little rod. (My dad's heading out tomorrow to buy himself an identical setup.)

It will get the job done
I haven't used the rod yet, but I plan to when I head out for a 7 day backpacking trip in Wyoming's Wind River Range. It packs down small and will fit the bill for trout fishing in remote alpine lakes. The cork handle looks nice and at $60 with shipping, it is not cheap, but it was the best value that I could find. Those are the advantages. The disadvantages are that the eyelets look flimsy; I could bend them easily. This is good because they weren't even lined up properly. The mediocre workmanship shows with eyelet adhesive bubbling up in spots. However, what bothers me the most is that the reel seat is too big to properly seat my ultralight reel. This is an ultralight rod and should accommodate such reels. It will work, but the reel will be a little loose. I'm not too upset that the rod isn't a work of art as I won't worry when it gets beat up in my pack. Just fix the reel seat and it will be an ok rod.

This pack rod is a good basic fishing rod. However there are 3 drawbacks. 1. the rod would be better if it had a hookkeeper, 2. The reel seat is too large to accommodate the very small fishing reel I use when packing. I had to duct tape the reel to the rod. 3. The plastic rod case is too flimsy to use if the rod is packed in on a pack animal. The rod needs a truly hard metal case.
Those issues aside, I will get a slightly larger reel to use if I go packing again, and I will certainly use the rod as a back-up spare rod.

Very handy outfit. I purchased the 6 foot medium light action model. Besides being a handsome rod it is also very functional. I keep it in my truck with a small tackle pack to fish those out of the way ponds and small creeks. Works great for panfish and even decent size bass. My only con is when purchasing in store it only comes with the rod sock and not the case.
