Best Travel Rod ever bought Bought this rod approximately 10yrs ago. Always kept in my car, just in case there is a chance to fish. Had been using this rod for for both FW & SW fishing and had caught countless fishes. Had no problem landing a 2kg GT and 4kg Pike. Although the rod had soften a bit after some many years of service, it is still one of my favourite rod. Only problem was with the tightening part. The cork material gave way after many years of usage but after some reinforcement, it works fine. When kept in the rod bag, i can chuck it in to a cabin size luggage. Will definitely recommend this rod to my friends. October 22, 2014
action not as described action is mod fast at best, probably more moderate.i really wanted a fast rod,so there description is misleading.rod is beautiful, love the gold guides and finish, the handle is big for my smaller hands.carry case is a joke, its a clear flimsy plastic throw away container to ship it in,it wont protect ur rod.its here so ill keep the rod and use it for a back up travel rod,i am disapointed though. Casting pack rod I have to admit, this is a fantastic rod for a casting pack rod. I bought the casting and the spinning pack rods two years ago to do some fishing up in Wisconsin and these rods didn't disappoint me at all. I'm now working at a Army Base in Korea and using them here for bass fishing. They're still holding up well and I'll probably buy a couple more since they're so easy to carry around. I highly recommend these rods for folks who can't lug the full-size rods around all the time. May 4, 2011
decent rod, misleading specs This is the only decent travel baitcaster bass pro offers that wont break the bank. This rod is far from sturdy and i would never try and use the 17 pound line that this rod can supposedly handle. This rod also claims to have a fast action, but the action is slow at best. I really have not run into any problems with the rod and it seems like it will hold up, i just wish that the specs had been a little more accurate, had they been I would have given this product 5 stars. Cyrano, I measure the rod with a tape measure while it was still in the canvas wrapping, but I pushed the canvas down to the rod ends and it measured 20 inches. Hope that helps...
