Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 46 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Does th Job Great little reel. No problems. The extra spool is always an advantage! For the money, it was worth it. December 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent light reel This reel is easy to use, very light, making it easy to cast. The only con is the design looks little cheap to me, but that's no big deal. November 3, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Decent Except for Bail I bought this little reel for the size and weight to put on my 5'6" UL Cameron trout rod. With the exception of the bail it works pretty well and it is very small and very light weight. That said, the bail has not closed properly since day one. Occasionally it will work as it should, but I usually wind up closing the bail by hand for fear of breaking something. When I get a chance I will exchange it for another one. But if the next one isn't any better than this one, I will look elsewhere for my next ultralight spinning reel. I just wish Daiwa still made the UL7, or better yet an updated version of it, and I wouldn't have to bother looking for anything else. October 22, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great reel Have fished with this all summer and just don't know what else to say about it. Very smooth, quiet and a great drag. Have one spool with 4# Floroclear and the other with 10# Power Pro. This reel is so nice I may have to find a better rod! October 3, 2011

Have one of the spools with 10# Power Pro and have had zero problems using it. Don't be afraid to try it!

Next I think I'll try 5# on it just for fun.

i have found if the bail won't close it is either a internal problem or most of the time the bail is slightly bent putting the bail in a bind. squeeze the bail a little and see if that helps

Dear Thetruth, you can use a 6lb. wt... Just kidding. depending upon what your fishing for type of water ( streams, rivers, lakes; ) type of bait or lure. Sometimes i use a 1/32 oz. jighead for crappie or up to 1/2 oz. for catfish. I use 6lb. test alot. Also consider rod action and whats recomended by manufacture on the rod....

I found mine at the Gurnee Illinois store in stock this past summer. If they wouldn't of had this reel available I would have found something else.

I used this reel to replace a TiNY 20 3 ball bearing reel that broke the bail spring.
