Rated 4 out of 5 by Good reel for the money. I was looking for an inexpensive light to medium action reel, I choose this one. Not a bad choice. No problems casting or retrieving my line. Works great with 20lb braid for lure fishing which I do a lot of in the pond by my house. Reeled in a 5lb snakehead with ease. There is only one thing, the line retrieval roller does not spin. Tried greasing, removing the washers and trying different combinations, still does not move. Besides that, it is a good reel for the money. November 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great caster Over all great reel! it performs great under alot of conditions. The drag is very smooth and holds up well when handling big fish. I have 15lb spiderwire braid and it casts like a breeze. already caught tons of fish on it. I would recomend this to anyone cause its a quality reel at a great price. October 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by best reel I've bought I bought one of these over the summer and just absolutely love it and Im thinking about getting at least two more September 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Performance/Value Item I live on the water.... Chesapeake Bay to be exact. I fish daily.....as long as the season is open, and often 'off' season just to feed my addiction (release only). If I'm not in the bay trying to catch a Rock Fish, I'm in a creek trying to catch Perch for the crab traps....which is more alike a 5 day a week deal. I use my 20FA model reel almost exclusively now....having tried and used literally DOZENS of other types and models. I find the 20 fits the bill perfectly for smaller fish with a medium/light rod and 6 pound test mono. I get LONG casts with light lures....like 1/4 to 1/6 oz.....smooth retrieve....great 'feel' in the rod......and most of all I LOVE the immediate anti-reverse! I should also mention that the drag works wonderfully well.....smooth and even with no stiff-spots where it hangs up. Overall, it's a great reel.....and I plan to buy several more, as well as up-grade some of my 'medium' Bay rods with the 40FA models. This is probably the best performing reel I've used, and compared to my other reels costing 8 to 10 times as much....this reel is easily the best Bang-4-the-Buck out there! July 30, 2012
