I got this reel as a b-day gift in June. I picked the reel out though. It had a good price, so i thought i would try it. For me it has worked well. I have caught many largemouth bass, stripe, catfish and even sauger on this reel. Everytime it brought em in with no problem. For me, it was not bad, for the price.

I would have to say that this is one of the worst reel purchases I've ever made. I got it simply for catfishing every now and then because of the bait clicker. I only used the reel a few times before it wouldn't cast or reel anymore, I set the hook hard on a catfish and it just stripped all the gears out of the reel (the fish was only about 10 pounds). I wouldn't recommend the reel to anyone. I've gotten a lot of quality BPS products before but this wasn't one of them.

product held up to multiple stripers on Hudson river. You get what you pay for with these but they do work very well with braid line. Only down fall is the bait clicker you have to tighten down the line release so it wont walk out on you. Then to cast again you have to loosen it. worked great on 7 and 8 foot fiberglass rods. When you ingage reel on a fish it is best to didingage the bait clicker while fighting the fish.
good product if looking to save money in a bait runner reel.

I purchased this reel because I wanted an inexpensive baitcasting reel and I had already bought a megacast spinning reel and liked it. Unfortunately, this reel lives up to the old adage, "you get what you pay for". The line kept getting snarled behind the spool inside the gears before I even got to the water. I plan to return it and get a better quality (and higher priced) reel.
