I read the other reviews, you do not need instructions. Anyone can figure this out in 10 min. If I can. It does work well with 3/8 or larger rope like in the other reviews. If your rope does get caught on the side of the pulley. just pinch the top, so there is no room to get in between the pulley and the aluminum. Yes they might break so buy a spare. I have a 14'11" Jon boat for the river, and I can lower and raise the anchor from the back seat.

Product should have instructions, the way it works is: pull up on the rope to let anchor down, pull down to level or below and cam will catch rope. Pull way up and rope will lock open, pull down to let rope catch. Works pretty well, works better with larger (3/8 to 1/2 in) rope.

From the outside of the boat. Put the rope through the round anchor clamp hole and pull it all the way through until the anchor hangs about 3 inches below the anchor system.Top 1000 Contributor

Thread the line from the wheel side with the line retainer up, retainer keeps the line over the wheel. Continue pulling the line through towards you and through the line stop. The line stop, swinging piece, should be pointing towards you when you finally pull the line all the way and when you let go the line crimps under it.1 of 1
