I have a buddy I fish with that has something similar to this and when I finally got my own boat I thought this was a must have. I installed and have everything perfectly setup yet the problem I run into is that the locking mechanism tends to stick upright where the metal flap is to keep it from flipping over. I have tried pulling the rope slowly and even shaking the rope to knock it loose and back down but to no avail. I have tried a little tweeking to the stopper and have got it so it does it less now but it still happens almost half of the time. I basically have to go from the back of the boat to the front and knock it down by hand then I can get back to fishing. The pulley system works great so far but without being able to lock the rope in place this product is almost useless.

HAD A PAIR OF THESE ON MY 10ft JON BOAT, SO WHEN I GOT THE NEW 14ft BOAT, I HAD TO HAVE A SET ON IT TOO. EASY TO MOUNT WHETHER YOU USE 1/4-20 SCREWS WITH NUT AND LOCK WASHER OR POP RIVETS. NYLON ROPE SEEMS TO GET IN BETWEEN THE ROLLER AND THE HOUSING, SO I WILL BE CHANGING TO REGULAR ROPE SOON.

I have been familiar with and have used the anchor lock for over twenty five years,It is by far the most effective and simple anchor holder out there.I have owned several boats over the years and have put these on them all.The concept is so simple yet so effective,It is one those things that you shake your head st and say,Why didnt I think of that!!!!!!!

Thread the line from the wheel side with the line retainer up, retainer keeps the line over the wheel. Continue pulling the line through towards you and through the line stop. The line stop, swinging piece, should be pointing towards you when you finally pull the line all the way and when you let go the line crimps under it.
