My son is 2 and a half and loves the water, yet isn't strong enough to keep himself afloat with the typical toddler vest-type floats. In fact, the average vest-type has so much flotation in the back that it causes him to end up face-first in the water.
This is the only flotation vest that has NO back foam and ample foam behind the head to keep a child in the face-up position.
It also has a handy strap on the top of the collar to grab a child if necessary.
It says "Infant" on it. I'd rate it 18-36 months for sure.

by Kristine Too bulky
The product was too bulky which doesn't allow much movement for the head to move. Child is not a big fan of it.

We bought this life jacket for our 2 year old son while we spent 7 days on a house boat on Lake Powell. Our son loved the bright colors, the fish and octopus designs, and in a few days wore it without complaint. Of course, he was never alone, but we felt more comfortable knowing that if he fell in the water, he would be safe and float over on his back. Even if we never use it again, it was well worth the money!!!
