  • Super swimming action
  • Oversized Lazer Eyes
  • Natural holographic finish
  • Durable soft plastic body

The swishing tail action on our double-jointed Lazer Eye Shad is enough to make any bass want to engulf it as soon as it comes into range. But the oversized Lazer Eyes and ultra-natural holographic finish just combine to aggravate the situation. Super swimming action. Durable soft-plastic body, pre-rigged with a super-sharp premium hook.

Bass Pro Shops® Lazer Eye™ Shad 4.3 5 36 36
Nice Swim Action This soft lure swims like a reel baitfish on the retrieve. I was simply impressed with how life-like it is in the water. I caught a small bronze back with it last week, and it held up just fine. Time will tell, with larger fish, how durable it is. July 9, 2012
Great swimbait This price for the bait is fantastic. The action whether you reel them slow or fast is great and they look very lifelike and real. The only downside is that they are not durable. After your first fish, the eyes start to come out, after your second or third fish the bait on the underside or the links in the middle tear and eventually the whole bait falls apart. Never the less it is still a great bait. June 6, 2012
Realistic I have used these for a couple of years now and fish mostly in a river that is loaded with shad. On occasion I fish with live shad, so I am very familiar with the look and motion of the real thing. This is the most realistc bait I have ever seen and used. It has proven to be extremely effective. I have caught a lot of fish and when they don't strike, they follow it to the canoe. Don't expect these things to last forever. They are plastic and will occasionally tear apart. No biggie. They are only $3 and some change. Compare that to the other hobbies like a $60 round of golf and this is a steal. May 23, 2012
good inexpensive swimbait The eyes fall out after a few fish, but it continues to catch them. At the price of them I don't cry real tears when I lose one of these baits. May 16, 2012

Not sure on hook size, but you sure are putting together an expensive lure, be careful about structure , they are easy to snag

For the price of these you could just replace the hooks with whatever size you need The lure I purchased did not have a good hook on it anyway. I know BPS advertises that the hooks are premium but the lure I got did not have a quality hook on it. I just replaced it. The lure itself is good quality

I'd remove the bottom treble and simply run the top hook of the bait on an Alabama rig. Look into the cream sunfish swimbait for a cheaper ( and smaller 2'' profile) alternative to this lure for Alabama rig use. Have fun with that rig!

Will sink when not being retrieved, the great swim action that they have during the retrieve looks to me like an injured fish when you pause your retrieve and let the lure go head down a few feet.

Different lengths....I think the 4 and 5 inch lures look much more realistic than the 3 inch. I may keep a couple of 3's but will definitely use mostly 4 and5.

I might not be dead-on, but the 4" should be around 3/8 oz and the 5" around 1/2 oz total. Plenty of weight for casting. Too much weight to put these on an Alabama rig in my opinion.
