I think that you could use the 6'8" MH for certain cranking applications, such as shallow cranking in cover/brush/sticks, etc. If I were you, I would really try to find a cranking rod for most of your other crankbait fishing. Try to find a 6'6 to 7' MH with a moderate or moderate fast action. You won't regret it, it really does play the fish better and lets the fish get more of the bait in its mouth, which aids in initial hook-up.
