The Bass Pro Shops® Johnny Morris® CarbonLite™ Spinning Reel: We believe that no finer spinning reel has ever been built for the fine art of finesse fishing. The featherweight, inflexible nature of the CMC (Computer Molded Carbon) frame transmits every vibration. These reels are ideal for braided microlines and the intimate contact fishing that truly puts you in touch with the fish—you’ll feel every tick and bump, and missed hits will become a thing of the past. So if that fat bronzeback even thinks about eating your drop shot worm, or if a 30" walleye picks up your rig and runs toward you with it, you’ll know. And it’s not limited to lightweight lures; it’s got enough middleweight punch to handle structure-oriented largemouth on mid-sized lures as well. With six double-shielded stainless steel bearings plus one line roller bearing, operation is seamless. It also features a ported spool face; super-smooth seven-part drag stack with carbon and stainless steel washers; Powerlock instant anti-reverse; and hardened brass and zinc alloy gearing. One thing’s for sure: when you lock this reel onto your favorite rod, you’ll never want to take it off again.
The Bass Pro Shops® Johnny Morris® CarbonLite™ Series Spinning Rod's featherweight 85 million modulus carbon fiber blank provides the ultimate combination of extreme power and mind-blowing sensitivity. Features featherlight, stealth-black, Pac Bay DLC stainless steel-frame guides with super-hard titanium-carbide inserts and a unique PVD (physical vapor deposition) coating to make them extra-slick and damage-resistant. Ideal for traditional monofilament or modern superline braids! Ultra-lightweight two-piece P-Tec polyfoam grips with plenty of blank exposure so you can feel the lightest pick-ups; super-light two-piece Soft Touch reel seat with max blank contact. The bottom line with these rods is this: you’ve never held a spinning rod so light, and you’ll be so amazed by the way it performs, you won’t want to stop fishing with it.
Rated 5 out of 5 by JRMeadows Exceptional Combo
I bought this rod/reel combo a couple weeks ago and have used it a few times on my boat on Lake Lanier. I have caught multiple larger sized bass with this rod and it has preformed flawlessly! I have been using 6lb Fireline braid on the reel and the rod's sensitivity is great! Overall, I have loved my experience using this rod and reel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by OswegoBasser King Salmon Buster!
I caught this king salmon yesterday with this rod and reel. I only used the rod because I needed a sensitive tip for casting accuracy. I never thought it would be strong enough to land this salmon but it did. The drag on the reel worked flawlessly as I was able to beach this baby with only a 10lb test line. Way to go, Johnny Morris!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Chockpish1 Rod is great, but reel needs work!
The rod works well, just like every other BPS rods. The reel however, needs a lot of work! I wasted two spools of line trying to get it to work! The line bunches up at the bottom of the spool, leaving big loops at the top, then a big mess! The reel is very light, but that's where the good stops. The drag is not smooth at all, it sticky, and hard to set, either to much, or not enough! I love BPS rods and reels, they are up there with the best, but I guess you can't win them all!
